Congresswoman Nikema Williams Announces More than $23 Million in District Transportation and Community Funding Requests

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) announced her list of funding requests to directly benefit the people of Georgia’s Fifth Congressional District. Six Member-Designated Transportation Projects were submitted to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and 10 Community Project Funding Requests were submitted to the House Committee on Appropriations. Both committees have their own process for reviewing the funding requests. Submission is not a guarantee that funding requests will advance or pass into law. The requests total $23,001,144 in potential funding.

“These funding requests come from every part of the District and represent the best of our past and future,” said Congresswoman Williams. “In Congress, I will never waver from securing resources for my constituents. Working with my colleagues on the Appropriations and Transportation and Infrastructure Committees, I will advocate for these projects that will benefit the people, uplift marginalized communities and ensure everyone has the opportunity to achieve the promise of America.”
