Congresswoman Nikema Williams Announces Support for Respect for Marriage Act
WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) a member of the Congressional Equality Caucus issued the followings statement announcing her support of the Respect for Marriage Act:
“I know that love is love. I represent a truly diverse District that is also the LGBTQI+ Capital of the Southeast. Many of my friends and constituents have watched in horror as this extremist, out-of-touch Supreme Court strips everyone of the rights they enjoy. Too many people are wondering will their marriage be next? The Respect for Marriage Act is a critical step to protecting the right to marry whoever you love. I will continue to fight for true equality for everyone until the promise of America excludes no one—no matter who you love or how you identify.”
