Congresswoman Nikema Williams & Mayor Andre Dickens Secure Relief for Atlanta TSA Workers in Republican Shutdown
WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) and City of Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens have secured relief for TSA workers at the country’s busiest and most efficient airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
As of October 1, 2025, at 12:01 AM, Republicans shut down the government, leaving thousands of federal employees — including TSA workers at Hartsfield-Jackson, the world’s busiest and most efficient airport — without pay, even as they continue to serve the public.
Effective October 11, 2025, to support TSA workers as they carry out their critical security duties, the following relief measures are being implemented:
- Free Parking: TSA employees will have access to complimentary parking during their assigned work hours.
- Meal Vouchers: Full-time TSA employees will receive two meal vouchers per shift; part-time employees will receive one voucher per shift.
- Concessionaire Support: ATL concessionaires may offer discounts or special meals to TSA personnel in recognition of their service during this period.
