Congresswoman Nikema Williams Passes the PRO Act

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) issued the following statement after the House passed the Protecting our Right to Organize (PRO) Act (H.R. 842). The bill will empower workers to exercise their right to organize, hold employers accountable for violating workers’ rights, and secure free and fair union elections.

“The PRO Act will allow workers in every part of the country to uplift their voice in the workplace,” said Congresswoman Williams. “Unions benefit all workers, but especially women and workers of color, eliminating wage gaps and bringing equity to people who continue to be marginalized at work.

“As a former union member, I know what it is like to have union protections in the workplace. I want that same on-the-job peace for workers everywhere. I am proud to support the bill and stand with workers in my district and across the country.”
