(WASHINGTON) – Today, Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) issued the following statement after avoiding an Extreme MAGA Republican shutdown of the federal government. 

Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) said: 

“For the second time in two months, House Democrats put people over politics to save the country from an extreme MAGA Republican government shutdown. Our work on behalf of the people will keep food on the table for millions of families ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, while preventing Republicans from advancing their dangerous agenda. Today’s vote proves that House Democrats are the party that governs responsibly and we will always vote for legislation that benefits everyone–no matter your ZIP Code, no matter your bank account.”
