(WASHINGTON) – Today, Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05), co-chair of the Bipartisan Congressional Caucus on Black-Jewish Relations and a member of the House-Knesset Parliamentary Friendship Working Group issued the following statement:

“We have an obligation to stand up for all humanity. I support all actions that will save innocent civilian lives—American, Israeli and Palestinian, and ensure the release of all hostages. I thank President Joe Biden for his leadership in securing this deal that will result in a pause of fighting, an increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza, and the release of hostages including Americans held by Hamas. There is still a long road ahead toward permanent peace in the Middle East and addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.  In the pursuit of lasting peace, the international community must prioritize a comprehensive solution that guarantees the long-term safety, security, and prosperity for the Israeli and Palestinian people.”
