Congresswoman Nikema Williams Statement on Voting NO to Department of Homeland Security Funding
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) released the following statement after voting NO to Department of Homeland Security Appropriations (ICE):
Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) said:
“I will not vote to fund the Department of Homeland Security while ICE, Trump’s secret police, continues its terror campaign across the country. Working families, American citizens, and my constituents are living in fear of masked men murdering people in broad daylight and kidnapping people from their beds, schools, and churches on behalf of Trump’s radical agenda.
Americans deserve an accountable, lawful, and safe government that works for them. For the DHS to reflect those values, we must impeach Secretary Kristi Noem, dismantle ICE, stop the terror, stop the violence, stop the murders, stop the kidnappings—then we can discuss funding.”
