WASHINGTON  Today, Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) voted to hold Peter Navarro and Dan Scavino in contempt of Congress. The advisors to the former President have ignored subpoenas from the House January 6th Committee seeking information into their role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election.

Congresswoman Williams said:

“Despite the fact that the Big Lie has been discredited, disproven and destroyed, Peter Navarro and Dan Scavino are defying Congress and the law as they continue to suck up to the former President. Record numbers of Black and brown voters turned out across the country—including my home state of Georgia—resulting in President Joe Biden winning a free and fair election in 2020. Our democracy is fragile, but this is the fight of a lifetime. We must hold everyone accountable who attempted to overturn the 2020 election, including the former President.”
